 Injury & Illness
 Prevention
|
|
Effect July 1, 1991, all businesses (regardless of size) in the State of
California must have a written Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and Program
(IIPP) in place. The law, SB 198, clearly spells out what must be contained
in the plan and how it is to be administered and documented. For many employers,
this is a new experience, as a large majority still do not have a current
safety program.
Emergency Management & Safety Solutions can provide employers with the
necessary tools to comply with SB 198. This may include the development
of a written plan, assistance in the development of job classes and practice
safety codes, an evacuation plan, worker-right-to-know, employee and supervisor
training, and hazard assessment.
This program is effective not only in California but anywhere in the nation
where employers want to manage their losses and protect their workers.

- Step 4 - Implement a
system of periodic inspections, investigation of injuries/illness
and a means
of correcting deficiencies.
- Step 5 - Implement a

- Step 6 - Establish a
system of communication with employees on safety issues.
- Step 7 - Verify compliance
with record keeping.
